Sailboats
Three Dragons carry the yard’s name. All are built to International Dragon class rules.

Doomernik
When Hong Kong was awarded the 2027 Dragon World Championship, the first Worlds the class has staged in Asia, Lowell Chang saw a gap that no imported boat could close. China would need a fleet of its own, built to the same standard as the yards that already win in Europe.
He went to Joop Doomernik. Since 1990, Doomernik Yachts has been the Dutch name sailors associate with a stiffer hull, a cleaner finish, and boats that are quick without leaving the International Dragon class rules.
Chang & Sin Yacht is building its first Dragon with Doomernik Yachts, and every stage of the work is being treated as craft.
Joop Doomernik has been on site with the Chang & Sin team, going through the hull, the materials and the racing finish together, so the boat that leaves the yard is ready to race for the World Championship in Hong Kong, not merely to start.

Lamination
The hull is laid up in the mould and left to cure.

Fit-out
Joop Doomernik works the inside of the hull by hand, alongside the Chang & Sin team. Structure, frames and interior are fitted out under his eye.

Racing finish
The two yards go over the hull together in the workshop. Fittings, spars and finish are checked against the class rules before the boat leaves the yard.
Doomernik Evolution
Chang & Sin’s latest Dragon, the Doomernik Evolution, is the result of Joop Doomernik’s many years of research and development across a wide range of Dragon models. Drawing on decades of hands-on experience refining the class, Doomernik distilled the lessons learned from studying and building numerous Dragons into a single, carefully evolved design.
The design was created by renowned naval architect Jack Gifford. Gifford’s work combines practical sailing experience with a deep understanding of yacht design, producing a boat that respects the Dragon’s classic character while incorporating modern refinements in shape and performance.
Built by Chang & Sin Yacht in collaboration with Joop Doomernik, the Doomernik Evolution carries forward this long process of careful development—shaped by years of research, refined through proven practice, and given its final form by one of today’s respected naval architects.
